ABOUT
While freelancing at Perception I was tasked with coming up with several concept designs for Shuri's lab scenes in the latest Black Panther Film. The original DNA model was created by another artist in Houdini which was then passed to me to light and texture inside C4D. I went for a more ethereal and elegant design to showcase the techonlogical prowess of the Wakandan people. Vlad Lynseco provided some 2D Wakandan UI designs which I utilized in some of the holographics around the DNA strand. The final VFX in the film ended up very close to what I had designed.
The final film ended up being almost 1 to 1 to my intial design explorations.
